What little girl doesn't enjoy a good fairytale? You know, one where there is a beautiful princess, an evil villain, and then of course the prince, who comes and rescues the princess from the evil clutches of the villain. And of course what girl doesn't picture herself in the place of that beautiful princess, with a dream for a real live prince, someone to be her Hero, to save the day when evil seems to be triumphing? Someone who is strong enough to keep going when all hope is lost, and doesn't give up just because everyone else has. And lastly, someone who will take a stand for good, even when no one else is.

But, how many girls actually get to see that dream come true? To have a man in their life who meets the qualifications of a Hero? I love how Merriam-Webster describes a Hero, someone "with great strength or ability" an "Illustrious Warrior" a man who "shows great courage" and is "admired for his achievements and noble qualities"...are there actually any Hero's like this left?

I say, Yes! Because I happen to know one of them...He's my dad.

In a world where honoring the parents God has chosen to bless you with is deemed "un-cool" and just plain weird, I am proud to be able to say that my dad is my biggest Hero. No other man that I know so perfectly exemplifies the qualities of a true Hero. I have seen my dad face the most extreme adversity any man could face, and yet has not once given up. I've seen how most everyone else in similar situations expire, not having the strength to finish. I watched my dad show true strength as he took stands for what was right, even when he knew it could cost him alot, including his job. But most importantly, I've seen how my dad has not been too proud to rely on his God. I've heard him freely admit, that in and of himself he can do nothing, but that he serves a God who can do the impossible.

I will be forever grateful for the lessons I've learned just by watching you dad, and would never trade it for anything. Thank you for who you are in my life...I love you<3

My dad...Illustrious Warrior, Strong, Courageous...

My Hero
