Purposeful silence.

I have not written for quite some time now. But, in case you were worried that this was going to become a trend, and that I was going to become like alot of other bloggers who have a blog but rarely ever update it, that is not the case.

It was purposeful silence.

I decided to not write for a while for several reasons, but the main one was because of a train of thought that had been running through my head ever since reading this blog post. Really, why is it that I feel so free to share all about my life with you all? With the entire world? Is it healthy? To spend so much time writing about ones self? Is it God honoring? It only strengthened in my mind that maybe I should think more about it when about 3 weeks ago my dad asked me some of those same questions.

So, I decided that the best thing was for me to take some time off from blogging and think about it. It was probably just as well because out of the last three weeks I have been out of town for two and so probably would not have had a whole lot of time to update anyways :)

I cannot tell you that I have come to any definite conclusions. I do know that I have decided that it is time for me to start blogging again, and we will see what the Lord says from here on out.

Now, seeing as I haven't written in over three weeks, and those three weeks have been VERY eventful, I have quite alot to catch you up on.

I will probably have to do so over a couple of different posts, so I will start where I left off.

I was able to go to Chicago for a week at the end of January/beginning of February. It was so much fun to be back and get to see lots of old friends. The main reason I went was because a friend of mine is a speedskater and he made it to nationals this year, so a group of us went to cheer him on at his race.

I had a total blast! I flew into Chicago and spent a few days there and then drove up to Milwaukee WI to watch Blake race. He did AWESOME and out of five races won 2 bronze, 1 silver, and 2 golds. And then to top it all off, he won the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP for his division! We were all so proud of him :) Now the next goal is 2010 Winter Olympics, we all hope that he makes it!

I went ice skating in downtown Chicago while I was there and it was SO much fun! Talk about cold though, I think that the wind chill was about -10 that night :)

Here is the rink that Blake skated on, it was HUGE! They had two hockey rinks inside the one track that he raced on.
Here he is . . . winning one of his races!!!
After the races we all headed over to Devils Head WI for a day and went skiing. I didn't get any pics of that day, wish I had, but I haven't forgotten the memories! The whole trip was so much fun. I loved hanging out with a bunch of old and new friends, and I was so happy to get to go back and visit CHICAGO, my most favorite city ever!

I think that is enough posting for now, I will have to tell you all about the trip I made to San Antonio last week for IPS in a later post.

O, and in case you had forgotten, I turn TWENTY in just two short days!!! Aaaagghhhhh....It is so scary! Anyways, more on that later :)

Hope you all are having a fabulous day!

I have not been reading you long enough to know that you were taking time off. It is rare and moving to know you are submitting your writing to God. Only righteousness can come from such a decision.

Those photos make your Chicago trip exciting to read.
